Looks like we are going to get some moody weather for the next - TopicsExpress

Looks like we are going to get some moody weather for the next five days. Very windy on the Upper Owens today. Numbers have really increased for catchable sized rainbows the last few days. Another push of fresh bigs are also heading up from the lower sections. Michele always kicks my arse when we fish together. That is not a prosthetic hand she is using to hold those Crowley Steelhead. I have come up with a fish friendly device to hold the rear section of the fish to make pictures easier on them. It works fantastic, and the fish dont get dropped or over handled for the pics. :) The hot rigs continue to be SJ worms, dark Assassins, or crystal Vanderleeches as the uppers. Vanderleeches & egg patterns as the droppers-heavily weighted below an Under-cator. Drifting has also been really good the last few times down. The Neithart boys-Rob & sons- Robert & (Blake with dad on the double) did well using smaller crystal leeches with a light sink tip. Flows holding at 83cfs. Consistent action in the WT section. Could be a good call this weekend as the weather will be flat out nasty on the UO for a spell. Have some smaller mayfly nymphs like FB PTs, Assassins, and birds nest. Use tiger midges and olive crystal larva patterns as droppers. I sell a dubbed olive larva pattern that works well this time of year here. Stay #16 or smaller during the winter months. Two Bug took veteran Drifter Dave Edmonson & his gal Laney for a float and they did really well. Love how the shirt matches that butter bellied wild brownie! be the fly...tom Website fish report, fly sales, & trip requests at: sierradrifters/ You can purchase these flies locally at Reagans Sports in Bishop, The Crowley General Store (across from the lake). In So-Cal get them at Strouds Tackle in San Diego, or Malibu Fishn Tackle in Thousand Oaks.
