Looong strips of dark smoky grey, bunched and thick in places, - TopicsExpress

Looong strips of dark smoky grey, bunched and thick in places, thin and streaky in others, are all sliding at breakneck speed across a pale lavender grey curtain wall, and over where the sun ought to be, a purplish pink peeps coyly through - seen only in fleeting glimpses - and all the more startling for that... But there are small gaps scattered here and there, through which a few tiny patches of pale, smoky topaz can just about be made out, and given the speed at which everything below that glimpse of pale infinity is moving, you couldnt rule out the faint possibility that more of the same will become apparent as the day progresses... You never know... One things for sure - theres been no rain overnight - all the rooftops are bone dry, as is the skylight below me, and it doesnt look like it will, either, despite the racing clouds above. The wind here below is blowing in fits and starts, bending bushes and trees alike beneath the weighty pressure of its waves, and merely caressing the leaftips between each gust before the next wave comes, swirling and slewing this way and that with deceptive power - it must be a nightmare to fly through, and so far, Ive not seen a single bird even try, so our smallest black and white cat, perched precariously on top of the inch wide fence, is surely wasting her time if she thinks any unsuspecting prey might just flutter her way... But you have to give her credit for the nonchalant ease with which she holds herself still on so narrow a foothold, despite the strong and streaming swirls and gusts that would dislodge anything larger than she is with ease... So into another day, then - unpredictable, and intriguing - rather like my two youngest daughters presents, already wrapped and piled beneath the christmas tree - I do like surprises! :¬}
