Lootera: Dacoity of the Heart! Go watch it... Lootera stunningly reflects an era gone by – of zamindars, palatial homes, antiques, earthly charm and vintage beauty. Creating moods with colour palettes of autumn and snow, soft lighting and sepia tones. Director Vikramaditya Motwane brilliantly brings to life this picture-perfect portrait, with silences, soulful stares and some real performances. With emotions that run deep and words (however few) that pound at your heart. Sonakshi imbues her role with stark vulnerability and poise – her best so far. Ranveer shows intensity while trying to quell his outrage and inner turbulence. The supporting cast is fabulous. Music by Amit Trivedi heightens the passion and drama. And while you’re soaking the magnificent beauty on celluloid, the film slows down, layered with coldness of heavy snowfall and heat of volatile emotions. Yet, the romance simmers and hearts melt. Ultimately, it’s about love, longing and liberation. If subtle, slow romances move you, I don’t think ‘Lootera’ will leave you with a frost-bite.
