Lord is this my husband? I know, you’re HEAD over HEELS over this GUY. You like how he looks, moves, walks and talks. You like how he worships. He FLOATS your BOAT. Doubles your HEARTBEAT, and well, you just can’t STOP thinking about HIM. YOU think about what it would be like to be his wife, and start a FAMILY. And you think about everything in between…Perhaps there is STRONG chemistry between the two of you, or MAYBE you’re just fantasizing from afar. You WANT him, and you WANT him to WANT you. MAYBE he does, but not in the WAY you think. Well my DEAR sister, the reality is COLD and HARD. When we MEASURE up all that we’re feeling, and thinking up to the WORD of God (1 John 2:16), we see that we’re experiencing nothing more than the LUST of the FLESH and the LUST of the EYE. But he’s a man of God! You say. He’s this in the church… he’s that… he knows the Word! He’s… Doesn’t matter. If we’re consumed with fleshy desires and thoughts of this PERSON 1st and foremost, if it’s a predominant and/or underlying factor in our INTERACTIONS, it’s NOT of God. And that’s a GIVEN. Remember it, and don’t LET the DEVIL tell you OTHERWISE. Sorry to be the bearer of disappointing NEWS, but I’m also here to SPEAK life, and ENCOURAGEMENT: When the RIGHT person comes ALONG, when we’re pursued by the one sent by God, LUST will have no PART in it. Not one DROP. And that’s a GOOD thing! RESPECT for one another, Godly character, desire for FRIENDSHIP, taking time to get to know one another, the SHARING of Godly values, will be only SOME of the things you can EXPECT to experience. There will be NO LUST because there will be no ROOM for it. God is LOOKING to BUILD marriages on STRONG foundations so that they LAST, and so that they REPRESENT the Glory of God and HIS CHURCH. Holy MARRIAGES will not RISE from LUST that’s SUPERFICIAL and FLEETING. If you’re experiencing LUST towards a PARTICULAR person while asking God if he’s the ONE, the answer is CRYSTAL clear – he’s not. Continue to delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Continue to walk uprightly, and no good thing will he withhold from you. Amen?
