Lord, we thank You that You fully, completely and totally taken away our sin. We are so grateful that we no longer have to walk in the guilt and shame that it brings. We no longer have to hide in darkness, but can walk in the light, in true freedom. We pray that in light of this, we would not use Your grace, love and mercy as a license to sin. We are no longer those people, we are no longer held as captives by the evils that plague this world. We are called out of that, to be examples to those who are still slaves to their sin. We pray that You would give us the strength to resist the temptation to fall back into our old ways and to continue to fight the good fight of faith. All sin is pleasurable, but only brings temporary satisfaction, yet You bring eternal joy, something that will never be stripped away. Help us to pursue holiness and righteousness over the fleeting passions of our flesh. We long for You to be glorified through our lives, not ourselves. Let us live out the most common Christian prayer ending in, "lead us not into temptation, but deliver is from evil." We ask You to guide our lives away from temptation and straight into what honors and glorifies Your name alone. In Jesus name, amen. vj24
