Loretta Jane Gentry, age 68, of Elizabethton, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 2, 1945 to the late George Washington Melvin and Irene Queen Dollar Melvin. She had lived in the tri-city area all of her life and was retired from Sprint Telephone. Loretta was a devoted and faithful member of Shady Valley Presbyterian Church. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family members, including her "Willie Boom" friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Melvin and sons Douglas Wayne Talley, Tommy W. Talley, and Larry W. Talley. Survivors: Loving husband of 32 Years: Dean Gentry Children: David L. Chapman, Jeffrey L. Chapman, Larry W. Talley, Robert D. Gentry Grandchildren: Danielle N. Chapman, Tiffanie R. Chapman, James R. Gentry, William Jeffrey Gentry, Tyler Chapman, Cody Chapman, Jada Gentry Sister: Helen Potts Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 from the Shady Valley Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jack Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Shady Valley Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery in Shady Valley, TN. Pallbearers will be Buck Marlow, Shannon Peters, Larry Gentry, James Gentry, Jeffrey Gentry, and Junior Worley.
