“Loretta Lynn Sings” Loretta Lynn (January 1963) The stunning Decca LP debut of a bold new voice in country music, today one of the reigning icons of all time. This amazing album featured 3 songs written by the new artist (a significant achievement for the time) One of which, in my humble opinion, is one of the finest C & W songs ever, “World of Forgotten People”. It was the first Decca single off the LP (another mazing accomplishment for a new female artist in this era) and shot all the way to #2. Loretta Lynn was here to stay. Forgive me for asking this once more, but why oh why... can’t country music sound like this again today?....
