Loretta has been sitting in a kill shelter in NC for about a month. Loretta has many things stacked against her hindering her odds of getting out of that kill shelter alive. This little darling has heart worm & was brought in holding up her back leg. X rays have revealed she has a badly dislocated hip which will require surgery (FHO and physical therapy afterwards). She has also been labeled a pit mix which means she has to go to an out of state 501 3 C rescue as per county law, therefore shelter policy. The normal cost to cure heartworm is $500-$800 and normally FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) costs somewhere between $1,500 and $2,500. So, I am hoping to find a) a rescue that is willing to pull her b) a foster/rescue then to be able to commit to taking her to vet visits and help rehabilitate her afterwards c) help funding her medical costs, which in turn, might help her odds finding a rescue willing to take her in, I have personally donated as much as I can at the moment, I wish I could donate more.
