(Rip) King, 72, of Corfu, a heavy equipment operator for Local 17 Operating Engineers for more than 30 years, passed away Saturday (Nov. 8, 2014) at Crossroads House surrounded by his family. Rip was born May 29, 1942, in Burlington, Vermont. He was the son of the late John King Sr. and Anita Laramee King. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karen Balduf King; a son Brian S. (Christine) King of Batavia; a daughter, Colleen R. King of Batavia, and grandchildren Christopher B. King of Corfu, Leanne King of Batavia, Brittany K. Rodon of Wyoming, Anthony Armstrong, and Cody Kosiorek of Batavia; three sisters, Theresa (late James) Pfalzer, Sandra (James) Smith, and Phyllis King of Oakfield. Rip was brother to the late Betty (Elias) Gould, John G. (Mary) King Jr., and Anita (Ronald) Loveland. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at C. B. Beach and Son Mortuary of Corfu, where a brief service will follow. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. at the Coon Club on Hopkins Road, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crossroads House or Genesee Cancer Assistance, both of Batavia.
