Lorraine Coutts Angeline Kaiser, Molly Coutts and Joyce Layton are very much involved as are Ruth Honeysett, and Darlene Babinell. I do take responsibility for not being more direct with this Issue surrounding the confirmation from Darlene Babinall , shame on me, I understand the concern and I hope that the Elders will take a more direct Role. I have also requested Assistance from KIRRIP regarding these types of ceremonies in the Future. Yes I am White, but have grown up with a strong Indigenous Family and Community in West Gippsland with my mother inlaw Ruth Honeysett of the Waradjeri Mob. And I do not see that my race should be held against me and find this very Racist and am astonished that a community can not see past this and work for a better future for the Community that we live in Bacchus Marsh and Surrounds. My son, daughter, Partner, and the Elders in Drouin and Warragul are also hurt that people choose to take this Attitude when Many that are upset about my actions and my compassion for seeing a desperate need for Change being something many have wanted yet no-one had stepped forward previously. I have taken my role in attempting to connect the community within our shire very serious. To see that as a community recognition of the Indigenous Community Be a priority here as it is elsewhere. I invite anyone in the community to assist in anyway. Hence the very Broad invitation to each and every meeting Held so far regarding all aspects of the Groups Activities. I have No agenda in this other than to see that there are service improvement within our shire for the Community. To see that our children can be welcomed into a community environment to learn more about the Aboriginal Culture with their families and friends whether they are white or Aboriginal. I also encourage participation from White Australians and Indigenous Australians to Build this together in respect to Reconciliation, Unity, Connected Community Engagement,Connected Community Services and Indigenous Services to see the acceptance of the History of Australia from the Beginning be taught as is the Cultural History of All or at Least Many other Countries. Yes I will make mistakes as will many others in the Group and Our Community However Negativity will only Prevent Positive Acceptance of the Indigenous Community by the Broader non-Indigenous Community. I also ask that people Refrain from being Negative and Contribute in a Positive Manner as this Group is beginning. I would also like to Quote from Elder Ruth Honeysett To The Group Dannii Started this to benefit your community and My Grandchildren the Fact that she is White should not be an issue, She is a hard worker, is good at things like this and I know that she Spends Hours Contacting resources, Elders and others to see that there is a Broad community Voice being used to Guide and Assist with this Group. Most of the Families in the Community will have White in their Children and Themselves going back over the Last 200 years, If you have an issue with Dannii doing what she is doing please feel free to contact me. As this group Starts you all need White and Black communities to stick Together and Unite. , If Dannii being White continues to Be an Avenue for you to Doubt her or to treat her in anyway other than an EQUAL, I will be Contacting Aboriginal Affairs in Melbourne Regarding this Issue for you all to be advised as to how to deal with A white Girl, My Daughter In-law and Mother of my Grandchildren, wanting to see Improved services and Activities for Her Family and their Community and YOURS.
