Losing our beloved mother this Thursday has me reflecting how precious, yet short our lives are. I bought a digital recorder months ago to record my Mother. Her story is quite incredible. How a poor mentally-ill woman born in Puerto Rico would lose all eight of her children to foster homes, widowed three times, yet somehow become a beautiful beacon of light to so many? How? Because she was a woman of incredible inner strength. I never got around to recording her although we shared many stories, Laughter, tears and hugs and moments that will be forever priceless to me. You can not put a price tag on sharing love and memories with those we hold dear. We shared more love between a mother and daughter, more than some share in an entire lifetime. l have no regrets. Just wish I would have had more time. I am reminded we all have limited time and that we can too be that beacon of light my Mother was to so many. In the months I was blessed to have my mother in my life (March-November) she deeply inspired and changed my own life. I will never be the same. I already miss her and how funny she was and didnt know it. She left this world with a smile on her face. I can ONLY IMAGINE what would bring such amazing joy to her heart but a place called heaven
