Lost Perth has allowed me to receive some fabulous photos to share and tell a story many would never know whilst unearthing photos and slides that may have been dumped on their passing as their loved ones had no interest in them . Libraries could never reach to the number of new rail fans Lost Perth does without tremendous costs to the public purse, I do this for my own enjoyment and the happiness of others by concentrating all those photos here for everybody to see each day on 1881 to Hotham valley Railway to encourage more of the public to appreciate the railways and the need to preserve what remains. Please keep the photos coming to fill in the missing pieces of trains working on the streets and wharves of Fremantle, spur lines at North Fremantle for Great Southern Flour, the sugar refinery and others, cars being unloaded at Cottesloe, spur line at Eric Street for the flour mill, spur lines at Subiaco for a ceramics plant and others, activities at Perth rail yards, East Perth Depot and workshops, spur built at Bayswater to run the Bunbury but only reaching Ascot Racecourse, spurs at Ashfield, Midland and into the hills from Zig Zag to Mundaring and Mt Helena , timber lines, the Armadale line through Forrestdale to Spearwood, the armaments depot at Woodmans Point and jetty, Bentley, Welshpool and Canning Park at Maddington, the country trains and cross country trains entering WA , Castledare, Clontarf and even the several Zoo trains are all fascinating subjects to all Western Australians. Credits are always given to photos and stories provided so start sharing by posting directly to the page, send as a message or sending images to 1881tohvr@gmail. I am happy to collect photos and slides and scan them for you returning them with copies to you so they see the light of day again. Everybody is welcome to share including associations, libraries, museums and businesses but include your opening times, a message asking for volunteers , special events etc. 1881 is here to help with up to 900 000 people watching my various pages, I will get your message out whilst increasing the enjoyment of the old rail days for everybody. Share this with those who will benefit most with increased public awareness to wake them up that I am here to help any way I can. Thanks to Richard Rigg, Nicholas Pusenjak. John Dix, Simon Barber, Phil Melling, Sandra Playle, Wayne Fernihough, Clarry Brown, Bob McGuire, Ralph Lindsay for so many photos and commentaries plus the many who comment on the photos to enrich the images with background stories behind them. If you have a photo with a story to tell, there are many many people who would love to hear it. Cheers Duff
