Lost a very good friend today that I had known since college. Roman Bates. The Ohio State University. 1982-86. An excellent running back for the Buckeyes but more importantly a good friend that never failed to compliment me on my cooking, come home with me on holidays when he could not get back to Memphis and who loved to take my Great Dane for his daily walk. Died suddenly of a heart attack. His sister and the doctors thought he was having an anxiety attack and he died at the hospital. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed. Roman was 48 and looked like he could go right back on the field. My condolences to his family and teammates.
