Lots of new Facebook friends. WELCOME! Who we are and what we do: Wildfire Control - Responding to wildfires quickly in order to protect public safety, homes and forest resources. We work very closely with our fire department partners in Maines organized towns and we are the wildland fire department for Maine’s unorganized territories, covering 44 percent of Maines land area. Law Enforcement - Our focused law enforcement efforts are designed to protect public safety, property owners and the environment. We enforce wildfire prevention laws, arson, forest products theft, property abuse and resource protection statutes with fairness, firmness and consistency. Our goal is to prevent violations from occuring in the first place. Disaster Response - We partner closely with the Maine Emergency Management Agency and other federal, tribal, state and municipal agencies to respond to disasters and emergencies when people are in need. Whether with our nationally certified incident management team or as single resources, Rangers are recognized as highly skilled and experienced incident managers. Aviation - With our fleet of helicopters and airplanes, we are able to repond to a host of incidents anywhere in Maine quickly. Our Ranger Pilots drop water on wildfires, assist on search and rescue operations, conduct aerial surveys and deliver critical supplies in times of emergency. Our avaition maintenence staff keeps our fleet safely flying 365 days per year. We are very pleased that you are interested in our program.
