Louie, a standard poodle came in to our rescued, cowered with tail - TopicsExpress

Louie, a standard poodle came in to our rescued, cowered with tail between his legs, his head hung low. He immediately bit a volunteer here as he was removed from the transport truck. Trembling in fear, he was defensive and unsafe. Another rescue had offered him to us in lieu of euthanizing him. We had him a year working through the fear and turning him into a happy loving dog who was very playful, a bed hog, and a very nice boy. Tricky placing him in a home who would listen to our instructions on introducing him to new people and give him the further socialization he needed to be a confident, happy, safe dog. Well we found the right family and here, after nearly a year in their home, is the message they left for us: Louie is doing fabulous! Getting lots of love and I Caved so he sleeps in my bed every night now With me and Zoey. He loves to snuggle and Cuddle. Im fairly certain when he was a Puppy that is what the previous owners Did with him because he is just one Big baby lap dog. LOL. Not sure Where things went wrong with Him but I can tell you that Louie has come a very long Way since he has been here With us. He is loved and Adored so much that he Forgets his past abuse And becomes a very Approachable dog. Its Amazing. Im taking him On as many errands as I Can and hes terrific. Drive thrus, no problem Just as long as he gets His French fries! LOL. Anyway, we are just So delighted to have Louie in our lives. And hes So smart! He already knows Not to go in the mud lest he Get the spray down before he Gets let back in the house. He Stays totally clean now. Not that Dirty boy any more. So funny. He is very very VERY spoiled and He watches out for his cute little Sister too. He even shares his Toys and chewies nicely with Her which is amazing! He Was meant to be here with Us all along Wishing you and your Family and very blessed Holiday season! Hugs Jamie & Emma!
