Louis Brennan was buried in an unmarked grave in plot. No 2454, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Harrow Road London N.W. 10 on 26th January 1932. PLOT 2454 in St Marys cemetery in Kensal Green was, until last week, an unfitting final resting place for a man described as one of the most internationally renowned inventors to have emerged from Ireland. Now thanks to the work of the Castlebar based Louis Brennan Memorial Committee a brand new headstone was unveiled in Kensal Green on Tuesday March 11th 2014 marking the final resting place of this Castlebar born genius. A plaque commemorating the life of Mr Brennan was unveiled in the cemeterys oratory at the service which was attended by members of the Irish, British and Australian armed forces. Mr Brennan emigrated to Melbourne in 1861 and at least five of his siblings died in the Famine.
