Louis Farrakhan on his 1MM, march anniversary celebration visit, called on Jamaica to become food sufficient as a means of becoming a truly independent nation . For years, I have been calling for community farms, where the idle hands and idle lands can be utilized growing 2 or 3 of the tubers and a few of the vegetables we eat, as well as feed for the cattle, pigs and chickens. Agro parks are good but they are not the same. I believe, community farms, if organised wisely can provide employment for all, the willing hands in a community and also facilitated the establishment of small industries. I am hoping the additional call coming from Farrakhan will help to turned the worm. (y)
