Lounge on the Farm Festival 2013: Performance Opportunity About - TopicsExpress

Lounge on the Farm Festival 2013: Performance Opportunity About the Project We are fervent about emerging artists and developing professionals having a platform for their ideas in an open and enterprising environment. We believe that not only is this providing an opportunity for those performers to thrive and procure valuable experience but also for us as a company to collaborate with exciting new artists and fresh ideas. We are therefore looking for a performer to collaborate with us this July. Our current production of AJAX sees the text reconfigured to a 45 minute performance which hits its audience hard with a short punch of intensity, as we present the devastating effects of shame and violence on the human soul. We multi role in the play and distinguish the character changes with our physicality. We want to develop the physicality of the chorus sections in the piece as they still have room to evolve; it is pivotal that their presence is dramatically distinctive in the performance space. We would want to workshop this chorus physicality with you, including the experimentation of new ways to create atmosphere using song. We would then build these explorations into a short performance to present to Lounge on the Farm Festival as part of the ‘Playhouse Creatures’ programme, between Friday 26th July and Sunday 28th July. About Theatre Rheo We are a physical theatre company specialising in innovatively adapting and breathing life back into Greek Theatre. We are currently touring our new production AJAX to festivals and theatres in the UK.
