Louth Direct Democracy Ireland (DDI) Press Release 7th November. ------------------------------------------------- Drogheda Council Meeting 05 Nov’ 2013 The decision of all councillors in Drogheda to back the motion for a moratorium on evictions is welcomed by Louth DDI. Direct Democracy Ireland has been long calling for help and assistance to be given to those suffering the hardship caused by the banks in Ireland. Louth DDI is glad to see others now supporting and following behind the same line of thinking as DDI has been formulating since its political birth. ------------------------------------------------- Fr Iggy ODonovan Louth DDI is delighted that Fr Iggy O’Donovan has been awarded the Freedom of the Borough of Drogheda. Fr Iggy has for a long time served the community. Reaching out to young and old alike, his sad removal from the town, possibly against his wishes, is Drogheda’s much loss. Maybe when his detractors are silenced instead of Fr Iggy in cases, we might see his return to the town in years to come. Many still hope so. ------------------------------------------------- Drogheda Protest. Mr Jeff Rudd, Louth Chairman DDI, spoke recently outside Labour TD Ged Nash’s office in Palace street, Drogheda about the cuts that have been main to the elderly. Responding Ged Nash stated in the press that he had “an open door policy”. Apparently that policy didn’t exist that day. A small number, three, entered his office to peacefully lodge a formal complaint – and were quickly ushered out back again! So much for “open door” – more like slammed shut after the local people left – including one equal elected Borough council representative! ------------------------------------------------- Furthermore regular statements on behalf of Louth DDI will be forthcoming monthly.
