Love/ Relationships/ Marriage August 22- Perfect Love? I’ve often wondered about the scripture, ‘Perfect love casts out all fear’(1 John 4:18). Not just “love” as we know it, but (teleios) “perfect” love. So what is the difference between love and perfect love? God’s love is perfect. Ours is imperfect. His is unconditional. Ours is often conditional; “I’ll love you if...” His love is supernatural; “Nothing can seperate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:38-39). His Perfect Love, is our standard. Our heart’s/spirit man, must recieve that concept fully, to get it. And guess what? We can have it too! When inviting the Holy Spirit to show how to love perfectly, if you truly desire it, He is faithful to show you His way. In looking up scripture on God’s love, ‘faithfulness’ appears alongside (see link below). Our God is long-suffering (patiently enduring wrongs). His love is unfailing. “His love goes to infinity,” as my daughter once said. What a beautiful picture of Abba Daddy’s love.
