[...] According to Beatrice Fleischlin and Antje Schupp, Western Europeans show little interest in Kosovo. This was reason enough for both of them to travel there to do some research for their performance project on exclusion. Aware that they were looking at the situation with Western eyes, they nevertheless set out to observe the complex political and social processes of this young republic. In collaboration with the Kosovan performance artist Astrit Ismaili and the dancer Labinot Rexhepi they created «Love.State.Kosovo», which premieres at the festival. Not only does it reflect the performers’ personal impressions, but it also addresses with grace and good humour the cultural differences inherent in this type of artistic collaboration. [...]
