Michel Jean Legrand (born 24/2/1932) is a French musical composer, arranger, conductor, and pianist. Legrand is a prolific composer, having written over 200 film and television scores in addition to many memorable songs. He is best known for his often haunting film music and scores, such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) featuring the song The Windmills of Your Mind for which he won his first Academy Award. Norman Gimbel (born 16/11/1927) is an American lyricist of popular songs, television and movie themes whose writing career includes such titles as Sway, Canadian Sunset, Summer Samba, The Girl from Ipanema, Killing Me Softly with His Song, Meditation (I Will Wait for You), along with an Oscar for It Goes Like It Goes - from the film Norma Rae. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.
