Love belongs to those who hope, though theyve been disappointed. Those who go on believing, though theyve been betrayed. Who still carry on loving, despite their scars of hurt. Love is a dangerous game. To love is to risk everything with no guarantee of any return. To hope for love is to chance pain, to reach for love is to hazard rejection. But the greatest peril is to do nothing, then love is lost before its gained. And so we dare to love, there is no stronger urge. Love lays bare your very soul, it burns with ardour in your breast. It fans an inferno your heart, but it makes you vulnerable. You built a fortress around your heart, so that nothing can ever hurt you. Then somebody wonderful storms through your defences. Youve become loves hostage. Theyre so deep inside your heart that when they finally leave, they take some vital part of you too. Youve been scooped out. You are but a hollow shell, a shadow of your former self. Youve been left weeping in the dark, love has made a pyre of your heart. The ashes are still warm and so are the memories. And even now the embers of desire are cupped in your hand and you fan them with your breath. If love belongs to those who hope, then love belongs to you.. On this day of equal light and darkness may you find the balance you need in your life, may you be blessed with abundance of many kinds and may you be surrounded by the people who love you.
