Love how Charlie has not only embraced a few signs in Auslan but has taken to inventing or modifying signs for her own needs: she loves watching me brush my teeth in the en suite- the only time she goes in that bathroom - and mastered a tooth brushing sugn after some confusion with hair brushing ;) She has also transferred the gorilla chest-beating I used when showing her a video of those animals on you tube to do extra work as I want - mostly, but not exclusively, in relation to videos on all devices. So - when her grandfather took the vacuum cleaner into the en suite to clean, but closed the door behind him, her outrage at not being included was voiced in a burst of tooth-brushing chest-beating! Who said language needs to be universal?
