Love is kind and long-suffering... This is the love God has for you and I: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Living Bible (TLB) 4 Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, 5 never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. 6 It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. 7 If you love someone, you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him. --- The Bible tells us that God is love, and as Christians we each are called to be distributors of that love in the earth. But often, as happened with the woman in this video, life has its way of messing with their heads and screwing us up. Very often we tend to be our own worst enemy, and sometimes it takes a while and maybe even a few hard knocks before God can get our attention. When that happens we can either stubbornly resist Gods promptings, and continue on our present path of destruction, or we can make a conscious decision to turn, what the Bible calls repentance, and it means literally to change the way we think. It is said that insanity is found in people who continue to do things the same way and yet expect a different outcome each time. When we find this happening in our life, then we can know beyond any shadow of doubt that surely we are our own worst enemy. If you are going to change your life, then its going to be necessary for you to come to the point where youre willing to take a leap of faith. The first leap of faith is never to put your trust in man, but rather it is to put your trust in the One who gave you your life and and who maintains it every day. It means that we first must be teachable and be willing to admit that we dont have all the answers. More to the point, we must also admit that thus far we have done a pretty good job of making things worse, and not better, on our present course. Dont you see, thats just the way things go until we come to grips with the fact that you and I have been designed, from birth, to have a relationship and communion with our Creator; and its exactly because of the fact that relationship has been deprived us because of something called sin, that we are ALL like fish flopping around on the shores of life, looking for our way back home. Jesus is the Way, He is the Truth and also He is the Life, meaning Hes the source of life for ALL of us; and until we make that connection with Him and are born-again, then we are destined to continue swimming in circles, getting more of the same from a life thats empty and without purpose. If youre going to change your life, then you are going to have to do what the Bible says, and change the way you think (meaning you have to repent). Our vertical relationship with God must first be established before we can even consider succeeding in any kind of horizontal relationship with our neighbor and/or our fellowman. With that said, the way home for all of us starts with the first step. Skip
