Love is the best experience of life. It cultivates compassion, healing and, manifestation. It is a beautiful journey that guides you to meaning, enjoyment, and purpose. Love and be loved. ~Healsci Day 56: Tadasana (Mountain Pose) Everything comes back to and is derived from Tadasana. Make an observation on how you typically stand. Is the weight in your toes or in your heels? Are you grounded into all four corners of your feet? Are you balance or shifted to one side? Learning to stand in Tadasana within functional alignment has been one of the most beneficial remedies for me in treating my chronic pain. Find functional proprioception in Tadasana and you will find functional alignment in the rest of your poses. Bend your knees and feel the weight in the soles of your feet. Lift and spread your toes (toe extension). Move the center of your weight into your heels. As you slowly straighten your legs, push down into the floor. Work on bringing your knees over your ankles and your hips over your knees so that your legs make perfect perpendicular lines to the floor. This will automatically engage your lower abdominals and quadriceps, shifting the contraction away from the tender lower back. Think strong abdominals on your exhales, open chest, retraction and depression of the scapulae (focusing in the engagement of the lower trapezius), lengthening through the neck and up and out lf the crown of the head. Be light, be true, and have fun Namaste
