Love many, trust few, and always paddle your own canoe! It’s always nice to have someone to talk to, a strong support circle is important to have, but be very smart and selective. For so many of us, at some point in the time we have had an encounter with someone that we thought we could trust, and that person ended up being far from who we thought they were. You told them something in confidence, or trusted them in some way. The next thing you know, everyone knows your business. Maybe you shared with them, and they not having your best interests at heart ended up using it against you. And then on the other end, you have those that pretend to be things that they are not, to try to get close to you and know all your business because they have ulterior motives. When they discover that you are not what they thought you were, or find out that you have nothing to offer them (gossip) they move on, sometimes telling all of your personal business as they make their exit. As human beings, opening up to people is considered one of our greatest strengths, however, not every one should be given the privilege of experiencing your vulnerability. I have learned that the right to hear my deep self actualized emotions, what shames me, as well as my fears and hopes, should be kept for a select few. A select few that have earned the right to be given the privilege of experiencing your vulnerability, or youll risk setting yourself up to be shot down emotionally by people who do not deserve your trust. Happy Monday...xx YEG
