Love on the shore I found you walking along the shore, A drifter of a sort. Alone adorned in cotton white, You were a beauty for to court. I was looking into your eyes, As you stared back upon me, Your eyes were gorgeous blue, And moved as if the sea. No words could explain that night, Or the way we fell in love, No words could explain our actions, Or what we were thinking of. We made love on that sandy beach, We held each other tight. We fell asleep in each other’s arms, And we stayed there through the night. We were awoken early, by the tides coming in, The waves were lapping where we laid, And as the water hit your legs, They both began to fade. In their place fins of beauty, A mermaid of the sea. Gorgeous from head to tail, Beautiful and free. You asked for me to carry you, Into the waters deep, Tears were coming from your eyes, As you quietly began to weep. The word that came worried me, For I have fallen for a mermaid true, You said that you had to leave me, And that I should not pursue She kissed me hard and held me tight, And then release me and swam away.
