Love should be celebrated. Love should be tangible. Love should be made an example of. I grew up where the love was not acknowledged or expressed by African American men in culture or music. Player mentality consumed popular culture, unraveling unity & families at the seams. Only to enter a professional world where arriving means rejecting the women who raised us as unfit or unattractive. Im not against interracial dating or love without the discrimination of color, but not at the expense of love of self or community. This concept is far from soft, its real, its true, & Im not afraid of it just because you are.
