Love these times when the kid and I get to hang out by ourselves. Tonight I learned she has Ray-itis when it comes to school. From my dad to my brothers and I, and Im guessing even my grandfather. Once we find the pattern, there is no going back to following the rules. Aka, why show my work if I know how to get to the answer my way, which is much faster than yours? So I get to attempt to teach my daughter the value of following the rules, even when they dont make sense. Or maybe the lesson is really for me.
