Love this Facebook post I just found: Sometimes we have this habit of hiding from the world because we feel rejected or something didnt go our way. We hermit ourselves out of a sense of self preservation, convinced that somehow we dont fit. Sometimes we do it for so long we dont even realize were doing it, we forget were doing it, we begin to operate out of the denial of it. Then a day comes where this barrier weve constructed is torn down by an outpouring of affection and we have an opportunity to allow its delicious disintegration. It was my 30th birthday yesterday and thanks to an avalanche of love I feel so empowered by my community right now. Now, Ive lived long enough to know that feelings come and go but what I want to remember is this: Dont wait for the world to knock on your door with love. It is outside waiting for you. Give yourself permission to seek it.
