Love this article. I am glad my husband and I are not the same people we were when we met 22 years ago, can you just imagine how utterly boring that would be. Weve invested A LOT of hard work in our relationship, survived a lot of ups and more downs than I care to remember... But we survived, and are both stronger for it as they all made both us who we are today. When you think you have nothing left to give, dig deeper, its there and trust me, it is worth every ounce of effort! Every ounce of love, recommitment, forgiveness, everything. Marriage was not designed to be a fairy tale it was designed to be a journey of highs and lows. And my favorite part of this article is My relationship with my wife, however, transcends the circumstance. If we feel ourselves drift, we reach out our hands and grasp tightly, because I choose to remain at her side, and she at mine. And if I ever look over to find that weve somehow lost sight of each other — both now walking alone and lost in that cold night — I will grab a torch and search for her until I find her again. She is my mission, my lifes work, and Id sooner give up my life than give up on her.
