Love this humble sharing by a dear bro in church. *pause* It reminds me of how so often we tell people to seek Gods face. But to what purpose and ends do we seek His face for? Thats why sometimes, despite our most heartfelt pleas, He still lets us fail even when we really depend on Him at times... because often, its the blessing that we prefer to the One who blesses. Not that its wrong to seek Him for blessings, for every good and perfect gift comes from Him. =) But sometimes, in His wisdom and sovereignty, He deems fit to withhold the blessing, to test whether we will still cling on to Him anyway. For perhaps its His mercy that He knows that if He gives us success now, we may not be able to handle it well. Often, it is only those who have failed the most who are the most capable of handling success when it does come... because they realize just how every success and good work they can do is totally by Gods grace and not their own strength.
