Love watching young people get passionate about causes!! Ive been invited by the QLD G20 Campaign Coordinator from Oaktree, for The Roadtrip, to be a guest speaker at a morning tea for 50+ young Queenslanders who will be coming through Byron in just over a week, on their way to Canberra! From September 28th until October 4th, 1000 young people from all around Australia will be hitting the road to reignite the movement to end poverty. They’ll embark on an adventure across the country that they hope will transform the way that Australians think about the issue. The Roadtrip will be the start of something big. It’s the Launchpad for the End Poverty Campaign, and these young people will be talking with communities and politicians and leading change right up to the G20 Summit in November! This year, 7.9 billion dollars was slashed from the Aid budget. Australia hasn’t kept its promises to the world’s poor. Cut, after cut, progress has been stifled. These young people believe that Australia should give its fair share to help end extreme poverty. Here is a clip from The Roadtrip last year - youtu.be/qvaiFPkpLbY ... If you would like to come to The Roadtrip Morning Tea in Byron, its happening at the YAC at 9.30am on Monday the 29th of September. You can find out more about the Oaktree here - oaktree.org/cause
