Lover of Life, today when we face challenges that haul us up short, that strike fear and resentment and anger in our hearts, may we get off the road for a few moments and find our big, smiling hearts again before trying to go ahead. May we search around for a scrap of the incongruous that causes surprising joy, or retreat into the sunlight and follow the squirrels until we can laugh well again. Lover of Life, when we face challenges that haul us up short, that strike fear and resentment and anger in our hearts, may we remember our joys in this life, our encouragement for kindness and helpfulness, the mercy of friends and the innocent pleasures that restore our courage from one day and one moment to the next.
