Lovies, join me in wishing Coach Keith a very happy birthday! Keith has been there since I walked through the doors of the boxing gym. When I told him I wanted to compete he said ok. When I said I wanted to do a tournament he said fine. When I said I want to eventually go pro he said well keep working towards it. He never goes easy on me and when I say One more! He always says Ill never say no to that. He calls me Silly Jilly. Hes been known to yell Hit her harder! And he always guides me when Im making the wrong decision. Him and his wife travel to all my fights no matter where they are and he always works my corner. When we realized he was training at the gym that sparked my interest in boxing more than a decade ago he said You should have come in. You would have been welcomed with open arms. When we first started training to compete I was really tense in the ring. One day early on he grabbed me by my head gear and brought my face to his and said Youre safe! Youre never going to get hurt in this ring. He didnt realize I had never heard those words before and it would be the catalyst for me to begin to take down the walls; brick by brick. Hes an integral part of my team; a key component of this untraditional healing of mine. Im a lucky girl to call him Friend and Coach. Happy Birthday, Keith!
