Loving one another takes on a new tone waiting in the clinic for - TopicsExpress

Loving one another takes on a new tone waiting in the clinic for treatment for cancer. It’s radiation day again, and we have come to know each other, what day of treatment this is and how many more are to come. There is connection. The word can be overused for sure, but the reality is distinct and real. We are connected by humanity and disease. We feel with and for one another. Maybe this is what church is really supposed to be about: Connected humanity dealing with the reality of selfishness and sin with the ‘treatment’ of love and understanding and the hope for a cure. Daniel, one of our special kids from the Coast (a grown man with wife, two kids, and a grand daughter) sits waiting for me to finish this ‘shared time’ with you. He’s come up from Gulfport to help care for me and share his story. He has completed his treatment for similar site and kind of disease at Oschner’s in New Orleans, and now devotes at least one day each month at Hope House where he and Anne his wife stayed during periods of treatment, to helping others. His presence, love, and information is a treasure just now. How rich we are to be loved. In a few days, Lord willing, we will have a new granddaughter in our lives. Reece,(Shelley and Chris) as far as we know today, is supposed to arrive some time early next week. Still hope to be there, and plan to do so, but working around treatment requirements is tricky. This cowboy preacher don’t like ‘being tied down.’ Or more specifically being screwed down as the face mask is put in place for radiation with the Linear Accelerator! Sometimes, however, you gotta do what you gotta do in order to get to do what you want to do. Several folks have said that they find it hard to navigate the Facebook entries. Me too. As we’ve said, FB was added because requested. I do best to go to Wellschurch.org and tap onto our different entries. Even so, there is a reaching out and a receiving in from these additional places for expression that can either bless or distress. We’re choosing blessing. Again, there’s no way to be as grateful to God and to you all as necessary. Maybe some of it will rub off with this: After a lot of times up last night, the morning came with quiet, sunshine, no pain, and a sense of well-being; I started singing “Thank you Lord.” It was squeaky--- but good medicine. Try it. Even when the day comes to you in different form and fashion. One thing serious challenge and disease demands: Less of me, and more of others. Our circumstances matter, but loving one another is even more important. Always love, Always, Keiith
