Loving someone secretly is easy....unlike those RomCom storylines, the quest is not the real challenge. Because while we are questing, longing and pining for them, we can still idealize them, make them the hero or heroine of our fantasies. We can lock the mythologies away in the happy places of our minds, love this dream guy or girl unconditionally. When the quest is over, the victory won, will you still find love for them when they are hurting and lashing out, when they are angry, inconsolable, unreasonable? When they irritate or embarrass you, when they fail to live up to being the person you want them to be? Being with someone takes much more than Love, it takes Guts. Because you will often say the wrong things, so will they. We will act without thinking, we will trip over ourselves, we will showcase our worst qualities...we will love so very conditionally. Can you find it again when all hope or patience is lost? Can you offer it again when you have been disappointed? Do you have the Guts to love when its not pretty? Love is ugly, crazy, and dramatic....too.
