Loving the amazing lessons our 5th and 6th graders are learning and engaging in! Thankful for the powerful truth spoken to our kids! This evening at JJ56 we had a great discussion about Forgiveness. 7 Things Forgiveness Isnt: 1. Saying that the sin did not occur or lessening its evil. 2. It is not enabling sin. 3. It is not necessarily a response to an apology. 4. It is not covering up a sin against you or someone else. 5. It is not forgetting. 6. It is not trust. 7. Forgiveness is not reconciliation. 7 Things Forgiveness Is: 1. Canceling a debt owed to you. 2. Releasing the control the offender has over you. 3. Forgiveness is giving a gift to yourself and you offender. 4. Giving up revenge. 5. Leaving ultimate justice in Gods hands. 6. Often an ongoing process. 7. Wanting good for your offender.
