Low pressure over the Southeast will head towards the Mid Atlantic - TopicsExpress

Low pressure over the Southeast will head towards the Mid Atlantic Coast tonight and then rapidly strengthen as it heads up towards New England. Weve adjusted the forecast slightly as the lastest models indicate the storm will be slightly closer to the New Jersey Coast before heading northeast. This will allow the back edge of the precipitation to reach into the Twin Tiers with light snow likely. Accumulations are expected to be minor with a coating up to an inch across the Southern Tier with up to 2 possible across parts of Northern Pennsylvania. Overnight temperatures will bottom out in the lower 20s. Early snow showers are likely tomorrow, but as the coastal storm lifts away, limited sunshine will develop. Afternoon temperatures will end up slightly above average with the 5 Degree Guarantee 36. Scattered snow showers could redevelop later in the day as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Once again, accumulations Saturday night are expected to be minor and under an inch for most. Colder temperatures will settle into the region on Sunday with early flurries giving way to partly sunny skies. Afternoon temperatures will struggle into the upper 20s. The chance for snow will increase a bit Sunday night into Monday, but the latest indications are that the approaching clipper system will drop south of our region with a few inches likely from Ohio into Pennsylvania and then down into parts of Virginia before heading off the coast. Temperatures will continue to drop through the day with highs Monday only near 20. A mix of sun and clouds are likely on Tuesday with highs in the upper teens. High pressure will keep it dry on Wednesday with more sunshine likely. Another cold front could bring a few more snow showers to the region on Thursday followed by slightly colder temperatures on Friday. Have a great weekend!
