Lowell Sun, Letter to the Editor 12/20/14 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a lifelong resident of the town of Dracut as well as being an active voter, I write this letter to implore the towns chairperson of the Board of Selectmen, Ms. Cathy Richardson, to stop embarrassing the Town of Dracut. The final straw for me has been her recently creating phony Lowell Sun headlines. I am no longer able to remain silent about her continued lack of respect for elected officials at selectmens meetings and tri-board meetings, and her failure to run meetings according to Roberts Rules of Order. She totally ignored a valid motion to adjourn, which was properly seconded at the last special meeting held. She chose to continue on with her own personal agenda instead of following the rules. On several occasions she has spoken on items while in her role of chair instead of passing the gavel to her vice chair. In the letter she sent to legislators inviting them to a meeting on the Kinder Morgan pipeline, she made sure she got credit for getting Dracut into the coalition, but she failed to state the time and place of the meeting. She needs to focus on doing her job and stop taking pot shots. She needs to stop campaigning and start leading. If she is going to remain chair, she really should take a class on Roberts Rules of Order. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
