Luanna Meyers sent us the story of her wonderful kitty, Magic! We love taking care of all of our patients and seeing them live a healthy and happy life. Magic first came to the clinic on 1/24/13. He was picked up by animal control very close to death and ended up at the shelter. Magic was unadoptable so Dr Nolet brought him to the clinic. He had chronic severe conjunctivitis which severely compromised his sight. He had been in isolation in a small cage and no longer tried to stand. Depressed, he appeared to have given up, and just stared at the sides of the cage. His nervous system was impaired and his brain didn’t seem to work quite right. His tail and ears twitched constantly. Basically he showed no desire to live. Through the efforts of Dr Nolet and his staff, Magic was treated with medication to help with his various conditions. He received acupuncture and Chinese herbs. As he became stronger we exercised his muscles, got him walking, and gave him lots of attention and love. He started to respond and soon he could walk from the front of the clinic to the back. He started showing signs of wanting to live. I brought him home in March of 2013. Since then he has learned to jump, run, and thanks to one of his brothers, play. He can walk all the way around the outside of the house and from front to back without getting lost. He is opening his eyes more and doesn’t appear to let his impaired vision stop him. Magic lives with 5 other cats, all of whom have embraced him. They seem to sense he is not like them and they are much more patient with him than they are with each other! His latest new behavior...he has learned to purr! It seems like a little change but is monumental given where he started. Thank you Dr Nolet and everyone at Pine Creek Vet Clinic for saving Magic’s life.
