Lucas Kim Wins Direct Spot into the Web Price Cutter Charity Press Release July 19, 2014 (Bond Head, ON) – By Terry Griffiths Twenty year old Lucas Kim from Toronto, Ontario shot a solid 4 under par 68 on Friday at ClubLink’s 7, 477 yard ‘The Club at Bond Head South’ course to win a direct spot into the Web Price Cutter Charity Classic tournament presented by Express Capital Mortgage. Kim, who plays on the Mandarin Tour, had only the day before won the Nesbitt Burns Open Presented by Steve Roud. Kim was brimming with a big smile as he learned that he shot the low score at the ‘Shoot-out’ earning him an exemption directly into the Price Cutter Charity Classic Event that takes place at Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield, Missouri from August 7th – 10th. Kim was excited that he had an opportunity to play in the Championship event that has a $675,000 purse and a winning share of $121,500. Kim earned a spot on the Mandarin Tour’s ‘Shoot-out’ for the exemption directly into the Price Cutter Charity Classic Event by Express Capital Mortgage by being in the the ‘Top 6’ on the Mandarin Tour Money List along with Dan Payton, Russell Budd, David Markle, Eddie Maunder and Brad Revell. In addition, Simon Reyers, Ryan Curran, Derek Gillespie, Brett Nymeyer, Matthew McMahon, Greg Doherty and Steve Lee earned a spots at the ‘Shoot-out’ by being in the ‘Top 6’ along with any ties on the Mandarin Tour’s Point Race. Kim opened the front nine with two birdies on the 6th and 7th holes and two bogeys on the 5th and 8th placing him solidly in contention for a chance to win the exemption. On the back nine Kim, once again, put on a putting clinic with 5 pars and 4 birdies on the 12th, 15th, 17th and 18th holes. Kim, who only turned pro ten months ago and plays out of the ClubLink course in Woodbridge, has placed in the top ten in all of the Mandarin Tour’s two day events this season with two, tenth place finishes, one seventh and third place finish, and his win at the Nesbitt Burns Open.
