Lucintel Appoints Dr. James Davidson as Director of Consulting Lucintel is glad to announce that it has hired Dr. James Davidson as Director of Consulting. Dr. Davidson has 30 years of hands on experience in composites and coatings and worked in the areas of pipes, tanks, poles and aerospace. Dr. Sanjay Mazumdar, CEO of Lucintel said “I am honored to have Dr. Davidson in our team and our clients can significantly benefit from Dr. Davidson’s subject matter expertise. In his capacity as Director, Dr. Davidson will be responsible to work with Lucintel customers in meeting their growth and strategic objectives”. Dr. Davidson’s background includes all phases of composites technology, business and manufacturing in the commercial, industrial, utility, power, building, construction, oil-field, aerospace, military and electronics industries. Dr. Davidson’s background includes several years with Ameron International developing and testing FRP poles and pipe. He worked for Shakespeare Composite Structures as Senior Vice President of Technology. Dr. Davidson also set up and ran composites companies in the aerospace sector and served as Vice President of composite material and product R&D at HITCO Composites and Vice President and General Manager of CIBA Composites. Dr. Davidson has provided consulting services to a wide range of companies such as EDM International, PowerTrusion, Baker Hughes, NOV Fiber Glass Systems, Whatley/Valmont and others. He has been actively involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) where he served as chairman of the ASCE task committee on “Fiber-Reinforced Composite Structures for Overhead Lines”. He recently served as Chairman of the American Composite Manufacturers Association (ACMA) Working Group on FRP utility structures. He is an authority on composite materials and processes, coatings, durability and weathering.
