Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue (a horse rescue in Pleasant Valley, NY) was contacted recently by a horse owner in Rhinebeck, NY, who for personal reasons cannot care for her two Thoroughbreds any longer. The owner specifically noted that she is not in a rush to find her horses new homes, as she wants to make certain that they will go to wonderful homes. Preferably, these two horses would go to a forever home together. There is one 12 year old, 16.1 hand, bay gelding available (as pictured in the first two attached photographs). His name is Echo. Echo is very much able to be ridden, but would require just a little bit of work initially, as the owner has not been able to ride him recently. He did race in his youth but has no injuries or special needs. He is very easy to work around. Echo wears only front shoes. There is also a 21 year old bay, mare named Jenny available (as pictured in the third and fourth attached photographs). Jenny is very easy to work around and very quiet. Because of her age, she most likely will not be able to stand up to much work. Jenny also only wears front shoes. She has been reported to have minor hind end issues, but upon our evaluation, seems to move just fine. Jenny is unable to be kept alone, however, so preferably, these two horses would go to a forever home together or else Jenny would go to a home where she would be able to be with other horses.
