Lucy Aldridgeposted toWAR MEMORIALS should be respected as a place to honour the fallen Theres an awful lot of Canadian poppies being attached to British Regimental Tributes on FB (probably because the originators prefer its design) ..... However, The Canadian, British & Scottish poppies are quite different and distinctive in their design and construction - Heres how to tell them apart.... Photo Timeline Photos HOW FAMILIAR ARE YOU WITH DIFFERENT COMMONWEALTH POPPIES? Recognised as an International symbol of Remembrance, the more TRADITIONAL POPPY, bearing two petals and a single green leaf, is distributed by The Royal British Legion mainly in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, but approximately 3 million are shipped to over 120 other countries outside the UK from their London based factory. These are mostly for British expats living in Germany, France and Spain, but some are sent to British Embassies in countries as varied as Argentina, Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka. THE SCOTTISH POPPY, distributed by Poppyscotland is unlike the standard two petal poppy, because it has four petals and no leaf. THE CANADIAN POPPY, which is made in Toronto, has four petals with a black centre and no leaf - similar to Scotlands, but is distinctive in its consruction. by: WILLIAM ALDRIDGE FOUNDATION Like · · 8 hours ago ·
