Ludhiana ACP, Dhruv Dahiya, who challaned high court judge transferred Four days after assistant commissioner of police (north) Dhruv Dahiya tried to challan a high court judge for wrong parking, the officer was on Thursday transferred from the city. The challan was cancelled as the escort vehicle of Ludhiana police commissionerate was supposed to have warned the judge’s driver against the wrong parking. The judge, along with his family, had come to Mochpura Bazaar for shopping and was not aware of the parking restrictions in the area. As it happened, soon after the escort vehicle and the official vehicle were parked near Subhani Building Chowk, it caused obstruction in traffic. Seeing the wrongly parked vehicles, Dahiya asked an inspector to issue a challan against the vehicles. As a result, a high drama was witnessed and several superiors called the ACP asking him to cancel the challan. After initial reluctance, Dahiya adhered to the directions and left the spot. It has been learnt that the judge called up police commissioner Pramod Ban, who then called Dahiya. Dahiya, a 2012-batch Indian Police Services official, was transferred to the post of assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Dasuya against a vacant post. The orders from the inspector general of police (IGP) headquarters stated that the officer should be relieved with immediate effect. Besides Dahiya, two PPS officials from other districts were also transferred on the orders of the IGP headquarters. A month ago, Dahiya had also challaned a police constable near Clock Tower when he had parked his vehicle wrongly almost in the middle of the road.
