Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Air France, Alitalia, KLM and Brussels Air all suspended flights in and out of Israel. Netanyahu has personally asked the US to resume flights to Israel and Israels transportation minister has said Ben Gurion Airport is safe and completely guarded US billionaire Michael Bloomberg has flown to Israel in a show of solidarity with the Jewish state and made official public statements saying that boycotting Israels airports is unnecessary, Israel is completely safe and it would just be a prize for terrorist Hamas So in my humble opinion one can derive only 2 logical conclusions to this. Israel is completely safe, the rockets that are raining down day and night trying to kill Israeli civilians (Isralei PMs spokesperson Mark Regev interview with Jon Snow-channel 4 news) are not actually posing any real threat to Israel, its civilians or its flights and therefore one could conclude that the attack on Gaza as self defense is unjustified, a fabrication or at the very least disproportionate and can be now painted as war crimes, not self defence. OR alternatively that the outcome of diversion of Tourism and income into Israel is so heavy of a price to pay that Israel is willing to downplay and essentially lying to calm the nerves of the International public and is not giving the suitable safety precautions necessary to prevent innocent civilians being casualties to Hamas rockets. Perhaps an even more sinister reading? Lets think of the major International outcry that would ensue if Hamas rockets did in fact shoot down a commercial plane carrying civilians from all states, not just Israel??? An even bigger story than MH17! Imagine the International backing that Israel would recieve from those who have either abstained or voted no to recognizing Israel as a legitimate state.
