Luke 1: 26-38: SOLEMNITY of the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY : REFLECTIONS Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favor with God. To be confronted by the mystery of the incarnation, i.e., to be told that she will conceive and bear a son...will be called holy, the Son of God, was way beyond Marys comprehension. In fact she asked a question, How can this be, since I have no relations with a man, obviously so. The great Archangel Gabriel narrated to her the Plan of the Father which we had no idea what really ran into Marys mind at that time. When she was told, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing is impossible with God, comprehending all of them was not her cup of tea, yes, she was happy to be told that her cousin Elizabeths curse of infertility was broken by Gods gift of conception, but all she had was TRUST in GOD, Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. Mary held in the archangels word, as a messenger, actually were the Fathers words for her! With that, she was no longer afraid, that is why, she said: LET IT BE DONE! With those words, the Fathers Plan for humanity and the world, was accomplished, through Marys GREAT YES to the Will of the Father!!! The fact that the Father sent His only begotten God to suffer, die and rise from the dead to save all of us, as we fully receive such when we were baptized in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, The initiative came from the Father and He will continue on to protect and save us as long as we keep our faith in Him and do His Will, I guess, there we find the answer, as that of the Blessed Mother, DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR YOU HAVE FOUND FAVOR WITH GOD! Gods continual pouring of graces in our lives, day in and day out, is not only a moment to say thank you but rather to assure us that, IF YOU ARE WITH ME, you have nothing to afraid. The promise stands, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS TILL THE END OF TIME! Lets follow Marys lead, in every way possible, we respond to God: LET IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WILL. Amen.
