Luke 5:16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and - TopicsExpress

Luke 5:16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. Jesus went into the wilderness to pray; we need to pay attention to this. The Son of God prayed; so we need to pray even more. He walked in power; and we instantly think it was because He was the Son of God; instead we need to realize it was because He spent time in prayer with the Father. The enemy tries to distract us with the phone, our list of things to do, people, weariness, distress, pity or a wandering mind; the list is endless of what the enemy will do to keep us from praying. God hears our prayers and comes to our rescue and the enemy of our souls knows the power we can lay hold of, if we will only pray. Remember, Jesus said greater things than this ye shall do. We decide to go on a diet and later eat everything in sight; or we are going to be conservative with our money, and instead spend to much; or we are not going to gossip ever again, and find ourselves speaking words we wish we hadn’t; or we are going to exercise and work to get in better physical condition and we become ill, so we have to quit working out; all of these, are things the enemy works to destroy and keep us from gaining victory. We have to become DETERMINED to fight against the enemy to achieve these goals and prayer will bring us the victory. He fights prayer because he knows what power it will bring into our lives. Make a change today and bring prayer to your daily life, and watch as the Lord moves mightily. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Lord we thank you that you hear our prayers; help us to learn to pray and hold fast to prayer more than we ever have before; we ask you to help us in the name of Jesus, AMEN. P.S. In these last days that we are living we need to get as much of the word as possible. If any of you have a ladies group at your church or Bible study that you would like to have a guest speaker, I would be anxious in the Lord to come and speak for you. You may contact me at this email address. Maranatha!
